melancholic tempests

clump eyelashes

as they spill from eyes

the same shade as July storms

pouring down onto expansive plains

inferno crimsons massacre sapphires

their anarchic contrast

paints fury as forehead creases form

nails clench and lash

striking and drawing scarlet

the same shade as their lighter fuel

yellows glaze over eyes

blinding outrage obsolete

as stars hide their soon supernova

golden honey intoxicates

syrupy relief drowns out acrimony

ash exploding from volcano outbursts

obscures the sun and blankets oceans

a sullen shade elicits numb

as fingers turn on December nights
